Chimps' Nest is situated at one of the best viewing points, right on the border of Kibale Forest. All cottages and tree houses are self-contained and have solar powered energy throughout the day.
Staying at Chimps' Nest means you are staying amidst the wildlife of the forest!
SLEEPING IN THE JUNGLE
People staying at Chimps' Nest can choose to use:
- Self-contained cottages, all with a splendid view
- Self contained tree houses inside the forest
- Family Cottage inside the forest, next to the river Dura
For really adventurous people, we have the option to sleep in a tree house in the jungle!
We have 2 tree houses in the jungle, built high into a tree (8 to 10 meters high). This gives the unique opportunity to stay on eye level with the monkeys who daily visit the tree houses and the jungle surrounding it.
On an average day you can see more than 5 species of monkeys and sometimes even chimps!
The tree houses are nearby the elephant walking trails, so if you are lucky you might spot them walking around in the night or early morning.
The family cottage is built near the restaurant, on a hill. This place is ideal for people with children or for people who want to be near the restaurant. Just like all the other cottages this cottage has a lot of privacy and is in the bush, surrounded by various colorful birds and wildlife.
The cottage holds two bedrooms with flexible beds which can be either twins or doubles. There is space for one extra bed each bedroom. There is a lockable door in between the two rooms.
This cottage also has a large balcony in the front with a view on the forest and the Rwenzori mountains and two complete bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets.
Therefore the family cottage can also be used as 2 separate (complete) cottages. For example for friends who want to have their privacy, but also want to be near each other.
It takes about 2 minutes to walk from the
restaurant and the parking to the cottage.
The family cottage can accommodate
up to 6 persons in two bedrooms.
Our cottages are situated on a hill, all with a private and splendid view of Kibale Forest and the Rwenzori Mountains. From your private balcony you can enjoy the wildlife, with the surrounding sounds of birds, monkeys, chimps, and elephants.
The cottages are self-contained with a luxurious and nicely finished shower.
From the restaurant to the tree houses is a 15 minute walk through the jungle. Our guides are happy to accompany you to your tree house.
We have room service so you don't have to walk up and down all the time. You can enjoy the sounds of the forest from the balcony to the fullest!
You will have 100 liters of warm water and 250 liter of cold water available every day.
A radio is provided to call for room service or emergencies.
The tree houses have a large balcony, outside shower and inside toilet on the second floor and a large bedroom on the first floor. One tree house can accommodate up to 3 persons in one large bedroom.
